Nagoya University

  1. Overview

Nagoya University was first founded in 1871 as a temporary hospital and medical school. After undergoing several transitions, the school was established as an Imperial University in 1939, and it has grown to be one of the world’s top research universities. Nearly half of the Japanese Nobel laureates in Natural Sciences in the 21st century have ties to Nagoya University, 4 served as professors and 3 as alumni.

Because of its internationally recognized achievements and established academic standing, Nagoya University is among the few universities selected by the Japanese government to offer international programs designed for international students. Since 2011, Nagoya University’s flagship departments started offering the “G30 International Programs” which are full-degree programs taught entirely in English.
