1. Overview

Fudan University, a comprehensive research-oriented university in Shanghai, was established in 1905 as Fudan Public School and renamed Fudan University in 1917. It was the first institution of higher education to be founded by a Chinese person.

Since 1952, Fudan University has had a total of 95 academicians alumni, second only to Peking University and Tsinghua University in China. The university set up a 1 billion CNY fund for start-up innovation in 2023 as well as launching what it claims to be China’s largest cloud-based scientific research computing platform CFFF.
